Will There Be a Hit & Run Season 2?
Website Deadline reported in September 2021 that Hit & Run had been canceled by Netflix and would not be continuing in the future. This is quite surprising to many people, especially because the ending of the film is tense and hanging. Fans won’t get any sort of closure from the series if there isn’t a follow-up season.
Why Was Hit & Run Not Extended?
The COVID-19 pandemic is the main cause. Due to the pandemic, the show’s production took an inordinately long time to even begin. And because of the constantly changing locations between New York and Israel, production costs are ballooning and Netflix may not see the series as worth its hefty price tag.
Even Hit & Run was expensive to make before the pandemic. para showrunner has spoken about the production costs of this film during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“They (Netflix) want it to be an international hit and not just a hit in Israel or a hit in the US,” say Nicole Yorkin. “One episode of our film is equivalent to two full seasons of ‘Fauda’ (another Netflix series from the same maker) in terms of how much it costs.”
